President's Message

Dear Fellow Wharton Alums:

We are off to a good start to the year. We have had two events so far that have been very successful. We had a dinner at NightTown followed by an evening with the Cleveland Pops, and we had a panel discussion on Manufacturing in Northeast Ohio, which was held at MAGNET (Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network). The MAGNET discussion was followed by a tour of Cleveland Whiskey, along with samples of the excellent entrepreneurial product.

Our goal is to have interesting events that will be worth your time. We also hope to assist you in developing a network of Wharton friends who may be able to help you personally or professionally. We also believe that our events provide a bit of continuing education, as we all strive to be lifelong learners.

Keep an eye on your email for other upcoming events, including a meeting at the new downtown Heinen's and our annual summer social at the Shoreby Club which is scheduled for August 20 (mark your calendar). We also will continue our monthly networking breakfasts at Corky & Lenny's (generally on the third Wednesday of every month from 7:30-8:30am), as well as happy hours. Guests are always welcome to attend any of the events.

It is shaping up to be a busy year for the club, and we hope that you will actively participate. Membership will provide you with opportunities to expand your knowledge, while enjoying the camaraderie of other Wharton alums and maintaining a bit more of a connection to the school that has contributed to your success.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please let us know. Feel free to call or email me (or any of the other board members) with suggestions. You may reach me at or at 216-378-1430.

Also, please let us know if you would like to have more involvement as a board member or in planning a specific event.

Thanks for your membership in the club.

Best regards,

Charles R. Crowley (W'82, WG'87)
