Dear Fellow Wharton Alums:

We are very pleased to report that we are hard at work scheduling a variety of events for this year, including an east side breakfast session on April 28th with Professor Useem, an in-home happy hour on May 24th, the annual summer social at Shoreby Club on July 27th, and an educational program in the fall.  Our goal is to have interesting events that will be worth your time.  We also hope to assist you in developing a network of Wharton friends who may be able to help you personally or professionally.  We also believe that our events provide a bit of continuing education, as we all strive to be lifelong learners.

Our first official meeting of the season took place on March 10, 2011 at noon at The City Club.  “The Practical Realities of Healthcare Changes” was presented by C. Martin Harris, MD, MBA, Cleveland Clinic & John C. Jones, BS, MBA, Progressive Insurance.  The event went very well, with great feedback from the attendees. 

Our East side breakfast networking will continue, generally on the third Wednesday of each month.  Please consider joining us at Corky & Lenny’s from 7:30 am – 8:30 am.  These events are informal with no advance registration required and have been invaluable in building new relationships among members.  Please watch your e-mail for monthly reminders.  We will also send information from time to time on webinars hosted by other Wharton Clubs that may be of interest.

It is shaping up to be a busy year for the club, and we hope you will actively participate.  Membership will provide you with opportunities to expand your knowledge, while enjoying the camaraderie of other Wharton alums and maintaining a bit more of a connection to the school that has contributed to your success.  Please fill out the enclosed membership form today.  Dues must be received by April 1, 2011, so that you can be included in the membership roster that we will be sending out this year.  We received favorable feedback on the directory that we sent out last year.
