President - Rebecca Bar-Shain - WG '92

Rebecca Bar-Shain is a financial planner with Cedar Brook Financial Partners – a wealth management firm located in Pepper Pike, Ohio.

Ms. Bar-Shain possesses more than 20 years of experience in strategic planning, small business management, finance and operations. She has served in consulting and senior management positions at Ernst & Young, LLC, Kaiser Permanente and Dr. Senders & Associates.

Ms. Bar-Shain received a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She currently holds a Life, Health and Variable Annuities license in the state of Ohio. She is a Registered Representative with Securities America Inc. and Investment Advisor Representative with Securities America Advisors.

An active member of the Greater Cleveland community, Ms. Bar-Shain was a co-founder of the Daily Dose of Reading, a literacy organization. Additionally, she serves as President of the Wharton Club of Northeast Ohio and she is a member of the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland's Partnership 2000 Steering Committee. She also is a graduate and active alumna of Cleveland Bridge Builders, and she has served on the Board of Trustees and as Treasurer for Fuchs Mizrachi School. Rebecca and her husband, David, have three sons and reside in University Heights, Ohio.

Events Chair - Kiara Berglund - WG '02

Kia is currently the Product Manager for New Jersey personal lines auto insurance at Progressive Insurance.  Progressive offers insurance for personal and commercial autos and trucks, motorcycles, boats, recreational vehicles, and homes.  The company is the fourth largest auto insurer in the country, the largest seller of motorcycle insurance, and a leader in commercial auto insurance.

Before being named to her current position,  Kia served as the Corporate Compliance Officer for Progressive, overseeing  companywide compliance strategy and initiatives for Progressive and, prior  to that, held roles in the company's Commercial Auto group, where she  successfully managed that group's business efforts in selected states in  the Midwest and Northeast.  Prior to joining Progressive, Kia worked for  the Latin American internet portal StarMedia Networks and spent several  years in investment banking at Patricof & Co. and Morgan Stanley in their  Latin American corporate finance and mergers and acquisition groups.  Kia  earned a B.A. from Yale University with a major in Latin American Studies  and a MBA from Wharton with a concentration in strategic management.  

Kia,  her husband Ryan, and two kids live in Shaker Heights, Ohio.

Membership Director - Brad Pulver - WG '01

Brad is currently the President & COO of Innovative Medical Equipment, LLC  - a manufacturer and distributor of medical equipment targeting the plastic  surgery, neurology, orthopedic, and pain management markets.  IME is  located in Lyndhurst, Ohio.

Prior to starting IME, Brad served as Senior Vice President of Marketing  and Product Strategy for Hagemeyer North America (a $1.8B North American  division of Sonepar, a $15B global safety, electrical and industrial  distributor).  For 10 years prior to this role, Brad served as a management  consultant - advising companies on a host of operational and strategic  issues facing their businesses. As a consultant, he served clients in a  variety of industries including Consumer Packaged Goods, Healthcare,  Retail, Safety Product Manufacturing, Industrial Distribution,  Telecommunications, Real Estate, and Financial Services.  After time with  Andersen Consulting & Deloitte Consulting, Mr. Pulver helped launch a  start-up, venture capital-backed Management Consulting firm in 2003.  Brad has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Marketing  from Cornell University and an MBA from Wharton.

Brad and his wife, Nikki, have three children and reside in Shaker Heights,  Ohio.

Gary Ray – WG'70

Gary is currently International Manager for TransformerEngineering LLC (TELLC), a designer and manufacturer of custom transformers andinductors for sale to OEM markets. TELLC is located in Cleveland and has two companies in Suzhou, China.

Prior to working for TELLC Gary owned TransformerEngineering Corporation (TEC) which he sold to TELLC in December 2008. Beforepurchasing TEC in 1989, he worked for Reliance Electric Company for 14 years infinancial, operations and marketing management roles and two years with PriceWaterhouse in Atlanta immediately after graduate school. Before attendingWharton, Gary worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company in Peoria, IL in operationsmanagement roles.

Gary served 12 years on the Board of Trustees of hisundergraduate school, Tri-State University, now Trine University, includingtwelve years on the Executive Committee and three years as Chairman of theBoard. He was honored in 1996 as the recipient of an Honorary Doctor ofEngineering Degree. He also served ten years on the Wharton Graduate ExecutiveBoard from 1997 – 2006.

Gary has a Bachelor of Science degree in MechanicalEngineering from Tri-State University and an MBA from Wharton.

Gary and his wife, Rose, live at Fox Meadows Country Clubnear Medina, OH and have a home at Mountain Air Country Club near Asheville, NC.They have one married son and three grand children living in Terre Haute, IN. Garyand Rose attend Medina Presbyterian Church where he serves as an elder.
